Outstanding Alumnus of the Year
Each year, Leadership York recognizes one outstanding alumnus for their contribution to the greater good in our community. Graduates from any of Leadership York's programs are eligible.
Please consider nominating a fellow Leadership York class member or any LY alumni for the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award. This award is designed to recognize exceptional graduates from our programs.
Nominees should meet the following criteria:
Be an active volunteer in the York community for a minimum of 6 years since graduating from a Leadership York program.
Hold a leadership role with a nonprofit or elected/appointed position on which they have served at least one term.
Making a visible impact in the York community through dedicated community service.
*Note: Volunteer, community, and board service that extends outside of the individual’s specific career carries more weight in the selection process.

Leadership York Names Mieke Walsh Driscoll as Outstanding Alumnus of the Year 2024
Each year, Leadership York recognizes one outstanding alumnus for their contributions to the greater good in our community. This year’s Outstanding Alumnus of the Year is Mieke Walsh Driscoll. The Outstanding Alumnus of the Year selection committee is comprised of past recipients of Leadership York’s Alumnus of the Year award and Leadership York staff.
A Shareholder and Chair of CGA’s Business Department, Mieke’s current community involvement includes the Powder Mill Foundation Board of Trustees, York Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, Vice President of the York County Community Foundation Board of Directors, Mentor for Leadership York’s Mentorship York Program, and member of the Joint Coordinating Committee for the York College/WellSpan Health Nurse Anesthetists Program.
She previously served on the boards of various other nonprofit organizations including WITF, York County Food Bank, Holy Trinity Catholic School, YWCA of York, Crispus Attucks, and Mental Health Advocates of York and Adams Counties – many of which she served in a leadership role.
Mieke was also named a Woman of Influence by Central Penn Business Journal in 2021.
